Pollarding

With tree surgery, it’s not always about cutting them down, more often than not it’s about effective tree management, designed to work in partnership with the natural growing process. 

Pollarding does exactly that as it encourages the growth of lateral branches by cutting the tree stem or minor branches six to ten feet above the ground level. It then regrows, with regular pruning, to produce a tree with less weight and wind resistance which makes it safer and gives it a brighter future.
