Crown lifting is an effective method of increasing light transmission and improving access to a specified height below the tree. On older/mature trees, lower primary branches should only be shortened to avoid trunk decay, but secondary branches may be removed. The crown should remain least two thirds the height of the tree to maintain the health of the tree. Please also see Crown Reductions and Crown Thinning.
Pittman Trees has operated throughout South Devon since 2007. We have many residential and commercial customers in Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes, Ivybridge, Torquay, Torbay and surrounding villages in the South Hams, Devon.
